I made this work during my year of solace in the backyard alcove of my mom's basement. I worked everyday through every season in a 6' by 10' space, with a space heater for the winter and a fan for the summer. I did not have anyone but my mother to help guide me through my work, and receive critique from. I learned she loves the color blue, and loves to see the ocean in artwork. As you can see through this work, not every critique went well, but she always loved everything that I did and supported me the whole way. The real name of this collection should be "Only a Mother Can See."
